Incognito Mode/Tab





The incognito mode or privacy mode is a feature that allows some browsers to disable browsing history, cookies and cache, information filled in form won’t be remembered as well. It’s a privacy feature that allows the user to browser the web without storing local data. This privacy mode does not offer any further protection. This may leave traces on the hard drive of the device used because the privacy protection is only within the browser. This feature only hides your online activity from other people who uses the browser on your computer. This will not make you anonymous on the internet and it will not keep your browser history but bookmarks and downloads will still be saved. Some form of incognito mode is available in all modern browsers on all devices.

To open a private window on Safari, have a tab open. Go to File on the top left menu bar. Click New Private Window to start Incognito mode. Alternatively you can press Ctrl+Shift+N. A new window will open and all the tabs in that window will keep your browsing history private.

To open a private window on Google Chrome. Go to Menu the three dots to the upper right. Click on New Incognito Window. Alternatively you can press Ctrl+Shift+N.




To open a private window on Mozilla Firefox, open Menu to the upper right, click on New Private Window. Alternatively you can press Ctrl+Shift+P.
